People & Culture Administrator – Help Get Our Summer Crew Beach-Ready
Fixed-term | 3 months | Part-time (c.24 hrs/week) | Auckland-based | $30-$32 per hour
Across Aotearoa, our volunteer lifeguards have saved thousands of lives and ensured millions have come home safe after a day at the beach since 1910. Surf Life Saving New Zealand (SLSNZ) is truly unique, delivering proactive surf lifeguarding and essential emergency rescue services, a range of public education beach safety programmes and campaigns, member education, training and development as well as a highly respected sport. Every summer, over 500 seasonal team members join Surf Life Saving NZ to help keep Aotearoa’s beaches safe - and we need you to help get them onboarded, vetted, and ready to go. As our People & Culture Administrator, you’ll be the behind-the-scenes engine that keeps our recruitment and onboarding process smooth, efficient, and fully compliant.
What You’ll Be Doing
You'll coordinate employment agreements (using mail merge), track documentation, and manage police vetting and license checks for our seasonal staff, including paid lifeguards and education teams. Working closely with our regional teams and HR Consultant, you’ll make sure everything is filed, signed, and delivered to payroll without a hitch. Your attention to detail, calm under pressure, and proactive communication will help set the tone for a successful summer.
What You’ll Bring
- 2+ years admin experience (HR preferred)
- Strong organisation and communication skills
- Proficiency with Word (mail merge), Excel, DocuSign, Google Drive & Sheets
- Experience with document and data management systems
- A can-do attitude and care for confidentiality and accuracy
