Local Events Support Coordinator – Eastern Region 

Fixed Term – 30 hours per week (November 2025 – February 2026) - Mount Maunganui Based

About the Role

This pivotal position supports the successful delivery of local and regional surf lifesaving sport events across the Eastern Region during the busy summer season.

You’ll help plan, prepare and deliver events by coordinating logistics, managing equipment and infrastructure, supporting volunteers, and ensuring safe, enjoyable, and well-run competitions.

Working alongside the Eastern Region Sport Manager, you’ll be part of delivering some of the region’s most exciting events – from junior carnivals and IRB competitions through to the iconic Eastern Region Championships.

What You’ll Do

  • Support the planning and delivery of local and regional surf sport events.
  • Coordinate logistics, transport, and event equipment setup and pack-down.
  • Assist with compliance, health and safety, and operational procedures.
  • Work with volunteers, clubs, athletes, and officials to ensure smooth operations.
  • Provide clear and timely communication with all event stakeholders.

About You

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Experience in event delivery and coordination.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Confidence working with volunteers and community groups.
  • Clear, professional communication skills.
  • A proactive, reliable work ethic and the ability to thrive under pressure.
  • A clean full driver’s licence (including trailer towing experience).

Knowledge of surf lifesaving sport or the wider sporting community will be an advantage.
